Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
Increasingly, many people are embracing Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms with the view of efficiently and cost-effectively settling their disputes. This as opposed to the conventional litigation.
We encourage our clients to, at first instance, consider and explore Alternative Dispute Resolution, either through Arbitration, Mediation or Conciliation so as to achieve a usually faster and cheaper settlement of their disputes.
Arbitration proceedings are generally adversarial in nature and the Arbitrator renders a final decision in the same manner as a Judge in litigation would. On the other hand, a Mediator/Conciliator assists the parties in reaching settlements through consensus and does not impose a decision.
