Job Description:
As a legal trainee/pupil at GNN Advocates, you will undergo a comprehensive pupilage program designed to provide you with practical legal training and exposure to various areas of law. Under the guidance of experienced lawyers, you will have the opportunity to develop your legal skills, expand your knowledge, and gain valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Research: Conducting legal research on relevant case law, statutes, and regulations to support ongoing cases and projects.
- Drafting: Assisting senior lawyers in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, opinions, and correspondence.
- Courtroom Experience: Attending court proceedings, hearings, and client meetings to observe and learn courtroom etiquette and advocacy skills.
- Client Interaction: Interacting with clients, both in person and via communication channels, to gather information, provide updates, and assist in case management.
- Case Management: Assisting in case management tasks such as file organization, document review, and maintaining case records.
- Administrative Support: Providing administrative support to legal teams, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and preparing meeting materials.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized institution.
- Proof of admission and study in the Advocate Training Program at the Kenya School of Law
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
